Question using dial-up internet between linux/winXp on same hard drive

Hi, I just installed suse 9.1 personal on the same hard drive as winXp. I have juno dial-up installed as the isp in winXp, but can I use my dial-up service on linux too? I know how to navigate around windows a bit, but I don't know anything about linux. On the juno site, they have software for Lindows and Mac, but no linux, so I'm not sure if this matters.......Also, if I can't use the same isp, does anyone know of a cheap dial-up provider that can be used by both suse 9.1 and winXp?

thanks,
Harvey

You better check to see if your win modem is working correctly under linux and then you can simply manually add the correct settings for Juno. But Jono may require a proxy or other software installed to run so you also may want to ask Juno if they support Linux or if they allow standard login without the software.

If they do:
Yast2 > Network Devices > Modem > Configure

Here's the first place to look to see what it say's about the model of modem that you have i.e. whether it'll work under linux and whether there's a driver for it.

If there is, then you should be able to download it under windows and then get to it from your linux install, move/copy it to your home directory and take it from there.

Sorry I can't explain any set up stuff. I've never had to bother configuring dial up!

regards

John
