using a system backup

Hi all,
I've had suse 9.2 for a couple of months and have finally got everything up and running and how i want it.The only problem being that it is on a hard drive that i don't want to use(too small).I wanna use the backup i've made and copy it onto my main xp hard drive after formatting it.The backup is on an external usb drive.Can i install suse on the new drive then open the backup from that? I don't really know what i'm doing! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Shavo.

As long as you have a copy of the files you want to keep, there should be no problem putting them on the new drive once suse is installed.

If you knew what you were doing, I would tell you to copy all the contents of your small hard drive to the larger one and edit /etc/fstab. However, it is safer for you to stick with a fresh installation and a file restore.
