Useradd Command To Add User To OpenSuse Box From LDAP ?

It didn’t seem to work when I used the USERADD command to add myself to the sandbox. It appears to me that the system treats my newly added account as a local account, therefore I couldn’t log in/SSH into it using LDAP credentials.
My question is what how do you add users from LDAP to your Linux server ?

Thank you

Right...the useradd command adds user locally. And this is essentially what you asked in your other thread here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...t-ldap-849814/

where you were given a link and advice on what to do. Did you read/do it?

ahh, I'm so sorry. I was too busy lately so I lost track of my posts. Thank you very much, I will read the instructions and give it a try.

Thanks again

I read the link above, it's showing you how to configure an LDAP server. nothing relates to importing users from LDAP server to a Linux file server.

Thank you anyway

...and if you read the WHOLE post, you'd see where it tells you how to hook your Linux system(s) up to LDAP, how to authenticate to them, and add/modify passwords.
