Question User Profile Issues

I tried installing DB2 client tools and I did so as root, now when other users login they get error when they invoke an application. To me it mostly looks like profile issue.

Any general suggestions in this context on how to install any application in Unix/Linux system would be of great help.

How exactly did you install it and on what platform? How can you be sure that the two are related?

yes ! this is the same case for informix database

you have to set the profile for the other user which is also using databse.

thats exactly what i want to know,

what is that I need to put in .profile file ?
how can I make it available for every user (new/old)?
