User Password
How come I can log in under my username using root password? Where can I fix this? I am running Fedora 10.

Could this be a "feature" of Fedora--akin to some of the Ubuntu quirks?
If its clear that it is not normal, I would first su to root and change ALL passwords to see if the behavior persists. (There's nothing wrong with trying this---except having to remember new passwords.) |
Are you really talking about login, or maybe unlocking a screen-saver??

I am talking either screen login or ssh login.

It somehow append my old password into /etc/shadow (I guess). Here is the solution I want to share. I login as root and remove password from shadow file. Log in as username (without password of course). Change a new password then problem is solved.
