User management issues, need help.


I start up my machine

login as root

run "kdm"

try to log into the KDM as my user account "sheep"

it spits out "Your login shell is not listen in /etc/shells."

help?

what shell are you using? what does it say in /etc/passwd? it *should* be /bin/bash by default. If it's not edit the passwd file directly or use the chsh tool. also verify that the shell of choice is indeed listed in /etc/shells.
