User aliases
 

i have just installed Fedora Core 9. I have setup some users and created an alias to their public_html folder that I setup in their personal directories. When I created a link to these directories from the main index.html page in var/www/html/ my server is trying to go to var/www/html/~user. Can anyone tell me why this is? I have the same setup installed on a Core 7 machine and this is not happening. Any ideas on how to correct this? thx.

Show the exact cmd you used. Remember that symlinks record waht you said, so if you said '~username', that's what you'll get. You need to specify the whole path.
