Unhappy usbcore constantly toggles the same module in and out


On 12.04 after an upgrade, it seems that usbcore registers and deregisters
module usbhid (connected to logitech optical mouse) in 2-second intervals.

It makes it difficult to use the mouse, e.g. for grabbing text, unless the
grabbing is completed within a 2-second interval.

sudo modprobe -r usbhid produces "FATAL: Module usbhid is in use."

It doesn't seem to matter whether the mouse or any other usb device is
actually connected.

dmesg gets flooded and gives:
