USB Thumb Drive Issue

When I load Knoppix I can see the Thumb Drive icon on my desktop and i can mount the /dev/uba1 just fine. However, I cannot write to it or save file structures. I cannot do this as root or user level. What do I need to do?

Is it mounting it read-only perhaps? What does mount tell you?

I don't run knoppix very often, but I believe it does mount all system drives as read only.
If I remember correctly, I think you can right click on the drive and tell it to remount as Read/Write.
