Found solution!!!! (at least for me) ubuntu 7.04

if you watching the /dev folder in natural when you plug in the converter, you can see the ttyUSB0 show up for 2 seconds and disappeared.
i think this is a buy in ubuntu. people say they dont have this problem in other distributions.
