Angry USB RedHat 8 Problems...

I am REALLY new at this linux thing. I've put RH 8 on my VAIO laptop. I have usb mouse that works on ME, but not in RH. I do not know how to start to look for help. I went to linux-usb.org and got so lost. I just want my usb to work! (my palm craddle doesnt work either, thus i suppose it is the usb not working). So basically I dont know if my usb doesnot work or if it is the mouse configuration that is wrong. Could someone please help me???

thank you!

first, switch to user root (su -) and run this:

tail -f /var/log/messages

then, unplug/plug your USB devices to see if it will be monitored by your system.

and check your loaded modules:

lsmod

look for the usb-* entries.

u might get detailed info via LQ search or www.google.com/linux .

hth.
