usb not mounting
 
hi ,
I have AMD Processor and installed red hat 9.0 . i m mounting usb drive but it is not mounting and giving error:---> usb.c:usb device not accepting new address = 3 (error = -71)
so how to mount the driver which is the driver of usb
it is /dev/sda or /dev/scd which is appropriate ? plz help me
my hdd driver is /dev/hda

Hi
I have trouble on 8.04

USB inserted does nothing

going into terminal typing
lsusb
wakes it up?? I would hope there is a fix for this?

RedHat 9.0 is ancient. It has been unsupported for years. You are really just wasting your time installing that and then trying to fix problems you have with it. Install an up to date version of Linux instead. RedHat 9.0 was the last of the free RedHat versions but the Fedora project replaced it so try Fedora 10.

I have to ask, why did you install RedHat 9.0? I'm genuinely interested to know. You're by no means the first person to start a thread saying the installed some hopelessly obsolete version of Linux and then ask for help.

So start your own thread. Don't hijack someone else's. Especially when you're using an entirely different version of Linux that is about six years newer than the one the OP is using.
