Your RedHat system doesn't seem to have the automount functionality available. As a matter of fact, a production server is not supposed to mount all kinds of devices at runtime, for security reasons. Fedora, on the other hand, is a bleeding-edge testbed for common users, as a test bed for everything, so it obviously has automounting available.
In your case run /sbin/fdisk -l to list all available devices and to find the device name of your USB drive, and then mount that device to some mountpoint of your choice. You need to be root for that, of course.
