USB modem not detected everytime
I got stuck up with a problem in net connection in newly installed Ubuntu 12.04 . I am using Qual-Comm HS-USB modem to connect to internet. It was not detected initially after installation of OS.How ever,it got detected and could connect to Internet after following the steps shown here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/14398...rking-in-12-04
But most of the time on starting the system it not detecting the device as a modem. It need to reboot the system,so that it got detected. I dont understand what to do.
Any help would be appreciated.
Those kind of issues are kind of hard to find. Might look at the logs in /var for clues.
Might have to make some timing changes to when services start up. My wild guess is some issue with usb and network are not being met. Either force usb to come up fully and settle and then start or restart network.
As you can see from the link you have, there are more than a few people having this issue and a few ways to fix it.
