Usb modem help install

Hi everybody. I am newbie and i faced my first problem at linux (Suse 10.1) so i thought this is the best thread to post.
The story:
I tried to install Suse 10.1. Everything was fine untill the boot. There was a problem with my usb modem and it wasn't booting. I unpluged the usb modem and it booted fine.

The problem:
My problem now is that i do not know how to install it. It's the first time i try to use linux. My usb modem is Crypto f200. I tried to find drivers but i didn't find any. Somewhere i saw that there are not drivers for this modem.

Can anybody help? As i said i am a newbie and please try to help me as simple as possible.

Thank you in advance!

Hi

Googling for that model number suggests that that modem uses the Conexant AccessRunner chipset, in which case these drivers might probably work:

http://accessrunner.sourceforge.net

However, for simplicity, your best bet would be to get a router and use Ethernet instead.

Thank you 1337_penguin!
2 questions:
1. Does the kernel of suse 10.1 contains the information (modules, drivers, firmwares etc.) needed for crypto f200 to run? (I do not know how to check this)
2. If the answer to the previous question is negative, can someone tell me with steps what i must do? I found the files needed (firmware, driver) in that page but i don't understand. If this is not possible, that's ok.

Thank you for your help.

Try:

# modprobe cxacru

If that produces no errors then the module has been loaded. However, this page http://accessrunner.sourceforge.net/driver.shtml says that it currently isn't included, in which case you'll need to grab the appropriate driver, etc. and recompile the kermel.

(It might just be easier to get a router - that way you won't have to deal with any of this hassle, and will also be able the connection between multiple machines easily)
