Sorry, no modem was detected! Is it in use by another program?
Did you configure it properly with setserial?

Please read the FAQ at http://open.nit.ca/wvdial/

If you still have problems, send mail to wvdial-list@lists.nit.ca.

I have similar problem

USB mobile internet stick - but cant connect.
My lsusb detects the modem as follows:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 12d1:1003 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E220 HSDPA Modem / E230/E270 HSDPA/HSUPA Modem

All seems fine - I think. So I configure connection from Network Manager icon - as you do so as to create internet connection with any modem in Fedora.

All seems fine there too - though I have read on other forum that it is there - in the configuration part - that something needs to be entered. DNS or something.

But your problem - modem not detected properly - is different. I heard something about having to unlocked the usb stick or something. modprobe was mentioned. good luck
