usb key email application?

I'm looking for an email application that is stored on a USB key. I would like to plug it into whatever pc I use (whether mine, or another) and access my email, with no installation. I want it to run on windows and linux and store my emails in the key if asked to.

It would be nice, if I was able to then "download" the archived emails from the key to my own (ark linux) pc when I got back from a trip.

Does anyone know of such an application? Am I dreaming of such an app?

Thanks -
PHIL

if it's your own mail server, setup an IMAP server with webmail..... accessible from everywhere and the emails are stored server side otherwise, I wouldn't know....

Well, some versions of Thunderbird don't require installation. If you set the file paths to the key, made 2 folders for the Lin and the Win versions and a separate one for the e-mails? If you set up the program to let the e-mails stay on server, you can always download them to main PC later.
