usb 2.0 not recognized in linux rh9 but usb 1.1 is
I have usb 1.1 on rh9. I added usb 2.0 card. system does not show 2.0. wherecan i find 2.0 on my system or do i need to get some other software?

If that's the orig RH9 (codename Shrike), then its been unsupported for yrs. Try RH Fedora 9 instead.

if i am not mistaken redhat 9 came out BEFORE there was usb 2
There is NO software for rh9

You can install (if it's available for RH 9) a kernel newer than 2.4.22, or you can compile it yourself.
Of course it's better to upgrade the whole OS to a more recent version, because RH9 is outdated as mentioned above.

I do have Shrike. After several days of shutting system down (to use less electricity), I noticed during boot that USB2.2 is loading - ehci. Nest to see if the thumb drive will work as is.
I'm not sure if my hardware will supporrt RH Fedora 9.

Fedora is on longer " technically " part of red hat . so it is just Fedora not red hat fedora
but as to hardware Fedora 9 dose not work to well on very old hardware . However as a headless server ( no x window ) it can . but i would look into CentOS 5.2 ( same code as RHEL 5.2 )
