URPMI Question

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but do URPMI "things" install automatically? I am using Easy Urpmi from http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/index.php and it is downloading "stuff" when I run the console commands. Is there anything else that I need to do, or is it downloading and doing installs/upgrades automatically?

Thanks for the info :-)

what it's doing is download the list of things available on the ftp sites so that you can search for packages available. In order to install them, you still have to use rpmdrake (just the same as you would look for and install things from the CDs) or use commands like
urpmi name-of-package

you can let it automatically look for updated packages in the sites by
urpmi --auto-select
this will give you a list of packages that you have installed and can be updated using the packages from the sources.

No prob.

BTW, you should periocally update the sources; i.e. update the list of the packages available. The easiest way is from the command line. As root:
urpmi.update -a
