URPMI problem, mandrake 10.1

hi. im trying to update my urpmi sources, and i am having some serious difficulty. I hope you can help. Here is what I do:

root@hydramax blackhawk]# urpmi.removemedia -a
nothing to remove (use urpmi.addmedia to add a media)
[root@hydramax blackhawk]# urpmi.addmedia --update updates ftp://ftp.cica.es/pub/Linux/Mandrake...1/main_updates with media_info/hdlist.cz
added medium updates
retrieving source hdlist (or synthesis) of "updates"...
ftp://ftp.cica.es/pub/Linux/Mandrake...info/hdlist.cz
found probed hdlist (or synthesis) as media_info/hdlist.cz
...retrieving done
examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.updates.cz]
[root@hydramax blackhawk]# urpmi.update -a
nothing to update (use urpmi.addmedia to add a media)

See, it looks like its retrieving the list, even shows me the progress of the download, but its apperently not adding the info to urpmi's database or whatever. I cant install anything, or browse for software. I have also tried using rpmdrakes software media manager, with no luck. any help please!

Yeah, I know. Thats where i got the list of mirrors im trying to tell it to USE. The problem isnt FINDING mirrors. Its that URPMIs CONFIG wont SAVE them. Again, any help. Thx

Try deleting your urpmi sources with rpmdrake (or manually) and then download them fresh. There might be a problem with the urpmi database, you could try updating it. Somebody else wil tell you how, my Mdk is a bit rusty.

Ok I fixed it. I deleted the urpmi.conf in /etc/urpmi, and then added the sources. seemed to work. thanks for your help there bud. Sometimes linux is frustrating for new guys like me, but its nice to actually figure stuff out and watch it go.

I experienced the same problem a few days ago and deleting the repositories and then swapping mirrors solved my problem.
