Mandrake comes ready installed with a great RPM tool - rpmdrake.
This'll usually sort out all your dependency issues for you - or you can urpmi from the command line.
For rpmdrake go to:
start menu -> system -> configuration -> configure your computer.
enter your root password.
MCC opens - you want Software management.
Here you can install, remove, update and manage all the packages on your box.
If you configure your sources using: http://urpmi.org/easyurpmi/index.php
easy urpmi, you can almost effortlessly add your choice of packages from a wealth of software to your PC in a few clicks.
