URGENT PLS!!! Vmware tools dosent wanna load on ....RedHat 9


i have a project due for submission very soon, and i av to make use of redhat vesion 9, i wann make use of VMware, i have windows XP as my host OS and redhat 9, as my guest OS, but the problem is Vmware tols as refused to instal on the guest OS, and witout the Vmware tools instaled, redhat wuld not find my CDrom or usb drives.....wen i run redhat i instal vmware tool by clicking on :instal vmware tools: immediatelt it tells me the package is being currently installed...but Vmware still say "u do not have vmware tools instaled on this machine"..wat can i do?

Could loopmount the iso, extract the VMwareTools RPM, then provide it to or ship it to your VM over anything networked? BTW, being curious, what is it exactly you do that requires RHL9?

Try following these instructions to install via RPM:

As for using Red Hat 9, they said project is due so I'd imagine its for college and sometimes they're behind in the times with updates and going with the last free version of Red Hat 9 for projects, etc.
