After doing a brief google search (criteria was Redhat AS 2.1libc.so.6) it seems that your glibc may not be up to date. Are they other updates that need to be installed?

Hi,

The server is running glibc 2.2 but this is currently not really the problem.

The problem is that due to the fact most programs use this link (that points to libc-2.2.4.so). So I need to beable to re-make this link thro other means from a program that does not need this.

btw most do, ie ls, ln, cat, etc...

If any1 knows of a way I would be very happy if you can help as the only other method I have is to explain to a user that is 3000 miles away the process of going thro a backup (lone-tar) to restore 1 file. This would be easier if they spoken good english as well
