Urgent help needed

How would you install software (a perl module) on FreeBSD, if you find the following files after extracting the tar.gz source:

Changes
README
Interface.pm
Interface.xs
MANIFEST
Makefile.PL
t/basic.t

P.S.
simply typing 'make' gave me 'no target to make' error, typing './Makefile.PL' gave me error messages for each line of 'Makefile.PL'.

You know we have a BSD forum. Also better and more helpful thread titles are encouraged instead of a "Urgent help needed"
Urgent in your thread no way speeds up the answering process and more helpful thread topics gives members a better view if they will be able to help you or not.

First, I would like to thank for everyone who paid attention to my question, especially to doublefailure, whose solution worked:
perl Makefile.PL
make
make install

As for Trickykids observation:
- if I posted my message at the FreeBSD Forum, it would have remained unanswered for days, as it often happened to me in the past, and this matter was really important and urgent for me,
- when posting my question, I was in doubt whether the answer needs FreeBSD specific knowledge or rather a general unix knowledge. As you may seen from the solution, it rather needed a general unix one.
- as for the subject chosen: you are right, but I was in a hurry and I did not have time to find a more specific, yet short subject; the only thing I knew: I needed a quick answer.

I admit that you may be right from the point of view of a moderator. I think, however, that the aim of this place is to help each other as fast as possible. I myself do reply to any unix related questions at any forums here if I know the answer, and say thank you for everyone who does the same.

You mean a simple quick "Install help on FreeBSD" would be hard to come up with.
As it maybe urgent for you, keep in mind these forums are free for anyone to use, it does not guarantee a answer even at all. Members answer questions, it annoys most when others put the word urgent in their thread titles as it seems to come off rude to most, as they are giving you free help on your situation.
I see it as, you had the time to come and post, you should respect the site and have the time to make it easier for others to know your particular question. Someone could see your thread and have no idea if they can help you or not given by the title. Thus making them read it and it could have wasted their time cause now they had to read a question they have no unearthly idea how to give an answer to.
And something like this posted in the BSD forum only helps our BSD forum. I notice too its a bit slower as most come here for Linux help, but wouldn't it be nice to have BSD members hanging around too, that's why questions in there actually help to draw more attention.

Oh well, I am glad you got your issue resolved, I would just hate to come to a forum where every thread said "Urgent help needed." I would turn around and wouldn't bother reading any of them.

No, man, the README was really interesting, but had nothing to do with installation.

For your reference:
ftp://sunsite.org.uk/packages/perl/C...ce-0.97.readme

By the way: why on earth did you think that I had not read that README?

In fact, before posting my question, I was over reading the perl CPAN manual, several unsuccessful attempts with CPAN; reading the FreeBSD port collections manual; and was just about to install the missing entire FreeBSD ports collection just to enable me install this single perl module.
