Unhappy upgrading kde failed


i have a problem.... after upgrading my kde to 3.1.2 it filckers when it starts and then drops out to textmode..... what went wrong and how can i fix it ???

Needs more details:
What is your distro e.g. mandrake and version e.g. 9.0
Upgrading from e.g. kde 3.0 using e.g. rpm
What else ...
More details about the software and hardware e.g. XFree86 4.2 nvidia g4mx, please ;-)
