upgrading from 2.4 to 2.6 kernel


Hello everyone,

I'd like to upgrade my kernel, are there any programs that I need. (Like a newer version of modutils)

module_init_tools.
Install and the follow instuctions how to modify modules loaders.

what do you mean exactly.
You must compile the kernel (slightly differently, se readme file included in the sources) and then create a sys system file in /etc/fstab like this
none /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
and also create a directory /sys
No other upgrades are necessary unless you have installed very old utilities (before kernel 2.4)

Well I suggest not upgrading to 2.6.0 directly; I'll suggest you wait for the next release which might contain a couple of more bugfixes than -test10.
