upgrading firefox in slackward linux 12.2
 
I would like a very basic instruction on how to update the firefox browser to the latest versio. I have downloaded firefox-5.0.1.tar.bz2to the desktop.

Unzip the slackbuild and move the downloaded bzip2 file into it.
I believe I last used this script for Firefox 3.6.11 (about when I last had 12.2 installed) so I can't guarantee that it will work for the latest version.
Run the slackbuild as root from the directery:

./mozilla-firefox.SlackBuild
Then run:
Code:

upgradepkg /tmp/mozilla-firefox-5.0.1-i686-1.tgz

If you have problems with that just use the slackbuild from -current
