Upgrade rhel4...
hi all,

i have installed Red Hat Linux AS 4(Nahant update 2).
now i need to upgrade 4 or above...
so where can i get updates & how to apply??

register you machine on the redhat network then you can update. i think rhel4 still uses up2date not yum.

Why are you using RHEL if you do not have a licence ? You are better of using Centos. The link you provided is a link to SRPM's not binary RPM's.

Short :
RHEL is actually useless without a paid account / license.

As @datopdog says : Use CentOS 4.8 ( or 5.4 )
CentOS is one of the free copies of RHEL.

Scientific Linux is another exact copy, also recommendable.

P.S. : SRC RPMS's are source code.

As above. either get (or retrieve if you have one) a paid subscription, then just do 'up2date' as root to get 4.8, or get Centos.

In either case, don't try to upgrade from 4.x to 5.x. Even RH don't support that
Backup your data/cfgs and do a clean install for 5.x
