Question upgrade my kernel to 2.6.10-rc1

I am currently using Suse 9.1 pro. I want to upgrade to the kernel i Downloaded 2.6.10-rc1. Is there any how-tos on how to upgrade the kernel for Suse, or is it similar to a Gentoo upgrade?? I read the Admin. manual, and i got past the make menuconfig, the make clean bzImage, then make modules, and last when i try to copy vmlinuz, it cannot be found?? why is that?? is it because i wen away form the Suse kernels, and went with a vanilla source?? I want to use the vanilla source 2.6.10-rc1 because I need it to work for my DVB card (as the 2.6.10-rc1 kernel has the latest, besides the CVS DVB, drivers). If anyone can shed some light and tell me what stupid mistake i am making, or better yet, direct me to a site that deals with upgrading kernels,i would greatly appreciate it.

ok, i checked /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/ and found the file bzImage that it made last night when i compiled the kernel. What would then be the next step??? should i cp the bzImage to /boot/vmlinuz??

thanks again!!

/boot/bzImage

change /etc/lilo.conf

you will see the old boot entry there, make a new one, copying the old, and you will see the part you need to change to reflect your new bzImage

of course each kernel in /boot needs to have a unique name

then run

/sbin/lilo
