upgrade my kernel?


i downloaded the newest stable kernel from kernel.org how can i update my SUSE 9.1 which has 2.6.8 i believe?

For your current kernel uname -a.Do you have personal or pro version?

With SuSE (Mandrake, RH ... anything that heavily
modifies the kernel) you shouldn't use a stock-kernel
for an upgrade, chances to break fundamental features
of the distro are TOO high. Wait until SuSE releases
an updated version of their kernel.
