Question upgradation???


hii
how do i upgrade to fedora 15 from fedora 11 without losing data and softwares which i have installed...do i need to reinstall the softwares in case i upgrade ??

hmm, I wouldn't do that,

I have seen a lot of problems, mainly if you are using XFCE,

I would recommend to do it step by step, first to 12 then 13, ...

Or make a fresh new installation if you want to spare time and headache. If you have invaluable data, better to do a backup from which you can restore them onto the newly installed system. However, if you have your data in their own partition (e.g. /home) you can do a new installation and choose to not format that partition. In this way data will be preserved. A backup on an external device is strongly suggested anyway!
