updating open SUSE-11.2 to 12.1
hello,
I am currently running opn SUSE-11.2 on my system. I need to upgrade it to the latest 12.1 version. How do i proceed about?I don't want a fresh re-installation. |
Have you considered reading the OpenSuse documentation. You probably have it installed in /usr/share on your system. If not, you should see the documentation at the OpenSuse website.

I have never done this, but here is a link
Upgrading SUSE 11.x to 12.1 However, someone in openSUSE forums seems to think that 11.2 to 12.1 should be a fresh install. Here is the link. |

you have Internet connection so download the Network upgrade, burn it to CD then reboot your computer with the CD in and follow the steps. I will suggest that for the upgrading purpose you actually plug your computer to a router instead of doing it wireless. If your current installation has Gnome desktop manager Gnome 3 is what you are going to get final product. If your computer can't handle Gnome 3 there is a way to roll it back turning the roll back mode. Also depend on your connection you might need to leave it upgrading overnight Good luck to you! |
