Updating Kernal
I am using Fedora Core 1 on a dual boot with Windows XP Home. I went to /usr/src and found the folder linux-2.4. I assume that this means I am using the 2.4 kernal. I am trying to install ndiswrapper so that I can install the driver for my Dlink wireless network card, but the installation notes say I need either 2.6.6 or 2.4.26. I am pretty new to Fedora, and am not quite sure where to download new kernals OR how to go about installing them. A download link and/or tutorial for this would be appreciated.
Also, in the install guide it says, "You need a recent kernal with source." What does this mean, and what do I have to do the meet those requirments? Thanks in advance, shimano55 |
