Updated to lucid 10.4 now have conflict with nvidia drivers

Hi, I just recently updated to 10.4 and now the only way I can get the xsession to display is if I disable the nvidia drivers or run in recovery mode and boot into fail safe graphics mode. I have been reading for days about this issue one says that the kernal .24 has a conflict because i'm running a 64bit os and that I needed to disable the drivers boot into the lower kernal 20 or something then enable them again, others say that you have to disable them then edit your blacklist.conf file and add neavue or how ever its spelled too the bottom. I've tryed both to no avail. I really could use some help.

Reinstall the driver following the directions on BinaryDriverHowto/Nvidia - Community Ubuntu Documentation : https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Bi...erHowto/Nvidia
