Fedora 13 is now unsupported. Updates will not work. Install F14 or F15 to receive updates, or to install software via yum.

Thanks for your soonly reply though i didn't understand the last 2sentence in your reply.
you got a cool name.

So now my question is how can I man the read or stat functions in Fedora OS?
I know under the Ubuntu OS, just input the commod man 3 stat/read, then press the enter i can see the descriptions of the functions.

if i clicked the same commond in the Fedora terminal, the screen showed no entry foe 3section of stat/read.

by the way i had already download the man-pages-3.32.tar.bz2 and installed the package, but nothing did help.

Thank you again!

What smoker is telling you is that Fedora is not supported so it is better for you to upgrade your OS to Fedora 14 or 15. If you do not do that then there is no way that you can install any update or software on Fedora 13. So, if the man pages for stat/read is not already installed, you cannot install them now.
