Update RH9
I downloaded the 3 CDs for redhat9.
1) What is the differences between shrike-i386-disc1.iso and shrike-SRPMS-disc1.iso? 2) Is there an easy way to update RH9 other than the web update thing that makes you register? If i register...does it make me pay? 3)I read the kernel update post...but it's a little outdated...is there a newer post about updating RH9? Even better, is there a really easy way to update the kernel? Thanks! |
1. don't know
2. don't know but inmy case, I ditched RH and went with another distro that doesn't make me register. "yes" for the 2nd PC on. The 1st PC is free as far as I know. 3. I think you can download kernel source from any major FTP servers... |
ElectroLinux,
SRPMS-disc1.iso are the source files, you want the shrike-i386-disc1.iso You can always use "apt" to download and update your apps. http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/apt-0.5.4 fizazz88, I know you are trying to help, but some of your answers are less than helpfull. Please do not try to bump up your post count. |
Thanks twilli227 for the info. Isn't apt for Suse? and what exactly does it update? the kernel?
