up2date register seg fault

hey, installed redhat 9 (shrike). trying to run up2date and it says i need to register. ive made an account on the rhn but whenever i try to register (with both gui and command --nox options), it closes out with "Segmentation Fault" whenever i try to get past the login screen (i can get to Fill in Info screen if i act like i dont have an account). ive tried reinstalling the up2date rpms overthemselves after re d/l from redhat...still no avail. yes i have pyopenssl and rhnlib.

drivin me nuts...tia for any help!

Don't quote me...but that could be the dreaded up2date SSL certificate expiration problem.

Go to this site:
https://rhn.redhat.com/help/latest-up2date.pxt

Check your rpm's with $ rpm -q up2date, etc.

If you have an earlier version, update it.

Hopefully, that's the problem.
