up2date problem
Eveytime I go to register up2date i get this error "problem registering username". Anybody know what this is and how to fix it?
I have scowered boards and FAQs and have found nothing. Let me know by AIM if possible. Thanks, Brett AIM: BrettAPower |
Have you tried using a different username ?
You can always take a look at the alternatives to Up2Date. RedCarpet http://www.ximian.com/products/redcarpet/ Apt4RPM http://apt4rpm.sourceforge.net/ |
I have tried other usernames, they don't work either.
However, I purchased the "basic" license through Redhat, so I would like to eventually get up2date to work. Unless, that is, that the alternatives to up2date do the same thing for free. Please let me know. -Brett |
If you purchase a license from RedHat, then you should have received an account including a username and password.
I suggest contacting RedHat, your license also includes free technical support. Yes, the alternatives perform in the same manner as Up2Date. |
Here is the error in full

Any ideas or suggestions????? |
Had the same problem with the "SSL routines', 'SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE', 'certificate verify
failed". The problem was a too large time difference with the server. Use NTP-server to adjust time and sync with "clock.redhat.com" |
You are getting this error because you have not updated your up2date.
Go to rhn.redhat.com and make an account, then go and download the new version. Follow the installation instructions then try to update, it shouldnt give you any problems |
Kristic is right.
