Unhappy Up2Date Problem??

I ran up2date on single packages alright, but when I ran it on the last 158 updates, as a group, it doesn't do anything. "The Testing package set/ Solving RPM inter-dependencies" window never moves as it did before. I even left it running from 3:00 pm to 7:30 am.

I hope someone can help. I'm a new Linux user and this is frustrating.

Thanks,

Neil

yum -y install

Thanks for responding, ethics. I'm using Fedora Core 3. I also tried using yum and it doesn't seem to work. I used chkconfig --level 35 yum on and then service yum start.
