unwanted color change in mandrake 10.1

Due to a monitor failure, I installed an old phillips 105. I have had no problems till then. Now when I use firefox or mozilla the colors change on the menu bars its so bad I cannot see the clock yet when I close the browser the colors return to normal. The change seems to involve a very dark blue ie, my clock colors are red numbers on a white background,as I write this the numbers are light blue with a dark blue backgroud. normally the menu bar taskbar is light grey at the present its lilac. Any ideas?
Thanks Tewaru

Sounds like a problem with the monitor, although I may be wrong. Can you check the pins on your monitor cable to see if they are bent or broken?

Pins ok. Problem only occurs when using firefox or mozilla, when I use Konqueror the colors remain ok
Thanks Tewaru
