Unsuccessful attempt to import videos from old hard drive into Banshee

I have an old hard drive from a computer that was running Windows XP. My current system is Linux Mint 15 XFCE. I connected the old hard drive to my current system with a USB cable, and then opened Banshee. I clicked on "Media" and then "Import Media". I selected the entire hard drive as source, because the videos were located in a number of different folders. It seemed that the videos were successfully imported, but when I tried to watch them, I saw the picture only for a moment, and then only a blank screen, while the audio played. How can I fix this, or do better next time?

I don't think you need to import, probably just add the videos to the play list, because usually import means that you want to convert it to a different format.
