unstall and reinstall
how can i uninstall ubuntu 7.04 and reinstall same
](i think i need a clean install) i am running xp as dual boot i tried 12.04 it would not run |
You do not need to uninstall anything. Just boot your 12.04 DVD and during the installation process you'll have a chance to format the old Ubuntu partition and install a new version on it. Be careful. Make sure you're installing Ubuntu on the right partition. Otherwise you might overwrite your XP installation. Before you do anything, make sure you know your partition setup. From the existing Ubuntu installation, you can use gparted to identify your existing linux partition.
Now for the second part of your question: Quote:

In order to re-install Ubuntu 7.04 you need it's setup (i.e. .iso or bootable CD).
You can delete it from Windows, as My Computer > Manage > Disk Management > Delete the partition that contain Ubuntu and merge that partition in whole HD. Then you can create a new partition again and install Ubuntu (any version that you like) again with dual booting. |

Well you can do format that partition, where Ubuntu 7.04 is installed, instead of deleting that partition. It will also do the same thing. Then you can use that space for Ubuntu 12.04 installation. |
