unrecognized command

A few hours ago i installed SuSe 9.1 The install went smooth, hardware set up was as painlesss as you can get etc, etc. Booted up to the command prompt and loged in as a user. First things first, adsl-setup. It spits out that it's not a recognized command. Maybe i did something wrong, so i'll just boot back to windows and see what's up. shutdown -r Spits out the same damn thing. What am i doing wrong here that it doesn't recognize even the simplest of the commands?

Also - whne you su, use "su -". This will load roots /sbin paths and save you using the full path each time.
