Unhappy Unlock Shaman Package Manager

My brother installed Shaman Package Manager so that it would be easier for me to download what I wanted. It worked fine until I decided to try to play a game while it was downloading stuff. It just so happens that this game, I had never used it before, was too much for my computer. My screen froze and I panicked and shut down the computer.

I hoped that when I restarted my computer, Linux would recover and everything would be good, but when I try to open it, it says that there was a problem testing libalpm and that maybe another program has a lock on it.

I couldn't find libalpm anywhere in my computer.

I really don't even understand the problem, I guess.

I'm not at home on my arch box so bear with me. Have you tried running pacman from the command line after this problem?

I've found that sometimes when pacman has an issue, I open up a konsole, enter root by typing "su -" and then the password, and type "pacman -Syu"

You will get some feedback here if there is a problem. Sometimes it will ask you something to the effect of is there another instance of pacman running, if not you can delete some file pacman/.../db.lck - as I said I'm not home and don't remember it exactly.

If that is the error you get, type "rm whatevefilenameitis", then run "pacman -Syu" again.

This has helped me get through minor shaman issues.

Problem again.

So I got the program to load, but now it will not down;oad anything. I went back into terminal to check on the problem. It told me that it could not resolve libjpeg>-7 and that it failed to complete a transaction, could not satisfy dependencies.

I tried to download libjpeg>-7, but either that is not the problem, or I did it worng.

Could you help me again?

I went back and tried this again, downloading something else and it worked... so it may just be a flunky program. Ideas for the problem are still welcome.
