Unlock Default Keyring on Login. LMDE using MATE
 

My home folder is encrypted and requires a password to log in. Once I enter this, I'm prompted to enter the same password to unlock my default keyring. This is a bit of an annoyance.

Is there any way I can stop my computer from asking for my default keyring and just unlocking it upon login? As it's in an encrypted home folder, I'm not fussed if it is stored unencrypted within this encrypted folder as I feel the keyring is secure while the computer isn't logged in and if they know my password to log in they can unlock the keyring anyway.

Using StartPage to search for answers leads to solutions that talk about removing the password from the keying. Unfortunately this don't work. I installed Seahorse and when I try change the password to the keyring I get the following error:

i used to have success when i enter a blank password for the keyring the very first time it asks for it.

throws a warning, but just press ok.

did not work anymore once a non-empty password was given.
