unistall my linux
 

I want to install linux on a other pc but on this pc i want to unistall linux but how???

I have suse linux 9.1 , windows XP¨also on it plsss help me and tell how that i can unistall my linux WITHOUT deleting my windows and win files !!

Hi Astrojax,

I assume your Linux is installed in a patition of its own.

Simply remove or format this partition, that's it!

If you have grub or lilo installed in you Master Boot Record (the "wanna boot Linux or Windows" thing at system start;), you can remove this by the MS-DOS Command

fdisk / mbr

wich is still available in the Dos successor known as Windows XP.

Where can i format that partition and how to i now which and what i have to format??? :s

Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Storage -> Disk Management

You will see a list of partitions there. Pay attention to the "File System" column. Windows partitions use NTFS or FAT32 file system. Linux partitions are probably listed as "unknown". Make sure you delete only those "unknown" partitions.

That works in Win XP Pro. I'm not sure about the Home version.

If your Lilo is installed in the MBR and you want to get rid of it. Boot your system into dos using a 95/98 floppy that contains the FDISK command and type "FDISK /mbr". That will remove the MBR along with Lilo.

FDISK /MBR is no longer an option in NT-based systems.
You'll want to use the XP disk supplied by your manufacturer, or the original installation CD, access the system restore console, and type

fixboot
