Uninstalling mesa
I'm running debian woody on my bargain-basement AMD Thunderbird 750 box with a Nvidia TNT2 video card.
OpenGL apps are deathly slow. Granted it's not the most powerful computer or video card, but by deathly slow I mean *deathly slow*.
I can get bzflag to work ok, as long as I set the options so that the graphics look like something from an atari 2600. And tuxracer? forget it.
Looking in aptitude I see that I have both the nvidia-glx-src and xlibmesa3 packages installed. From other posts and discussions it looks like I should uninstall the xlibmesa3 package.
Am I going to break anything by doing so?
Is there a better way?
thanks.
