Uninstalling Mandrake Linux 8.1

I installed Mandrake 8.1 about a year ago and don't exactly know what I did. I think that I first partitioned the hard drive using a utility tool called "f..something?" instead of using Partition Magic because it was free and Partition Magic was'nt. The directions said to defrag first. I made a Linux and a Dos partition and am using a boot option to go to Windows 98 or Linux. Now my question......How do I uninstall Linux and recover the Linux partition to Dos, without reformatting and loosing everything? If you can walk me through this, you will be a GOD in my book!

Make a win98 bootdisk.
Use the Linux fdisk utility to delete the linux partitions.
Shutdown comp
Set comp to boot from floppy, put win98 bootdisk in and start comp.At the dos prompt type fdisk/mbr and press enter.
There, now I have to go shower:(

And I won't lose my current windows partition? You can answer after you shower. I certainly appreciate your help. Thanks

Lol.You should be fine if you make certain you chose just the linux partitions.

I can't use my mouse in Linux. Can you tell me how to get to the Linux fdisk utility? I should be able to take it from there. Again, i appreciate the help. I want to start all over trying Mandrake 9.0.

Type ctrl-alt-f2 to get a terminal.
Then type:
su hit enter
Then enter your root password, hit enter and then type:
fdisk /dev/hda
Try that.

Hmm.... I may be doing a few things wrong. I get to the linux prompt ok then It says to enter a root password. I enter what I thought was the password but it doesn't accept it. so I enter a login and then the same password and it accepts it, But. I think that it logs me in as a user instead of into the root? So when I type fdisk, it says invalid command or soething like that. Any advice for me ?
