I suppose a good start would be...what did you do?

I am not a debian user but:

Quote:
sudo apt-get remove libreoffice*
is that right? Then what happens? If you can copy & paste the actual terminal output it would be something to look at.

Cheers

A very long list of pkgs appears with the following error,

You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
python3-uno : Depends: libreoffice-core (= 1:4.3.4-0ubuntu1~trusty1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

I have tried purging as well. Seem I also now can no install/ update anything else until this is resolved.

"issues" could be anything

most "issues"
Quote:
can be solved with the appropriate amount of high explosives
have you renamed the config and setting folder in your home folder
~/.config/libreoffice
to
~/.config/libreoffice.off

then reopened up libreoffice

A fresh install (after removing) will yield exactly the same issues as you have now. Some versions of LibreOffice are insanely unstable.

You can try to
Code:
apt-get install libreoffice
which will upgrdae to the latest LO if is available. If the system keeps complaining about errors during dpkg (even after apt-get install -f) you damaged your system somehow, probably by mixing repositories of different versions.

As I stated before I am unable to use apt-get to install

~# apt-get install libreoffice

libreoffice is already the newest version.
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libreoffice-core : Depends: libreoffice-common (> 1:4.3.4) but it is not going to be installed
libreoffice-java-common : Depends: libreoffice-common but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
