uninstall video drivers

hello guyz
excuse me if my english is not very good but im italian and i have got some difficulties...
<problem>
then my problem is: i've installed the ati radeon 9600's drivers for linux and when i rebooted i couldn't see anything on my desktop just after linux had finished all of his processes...
i know that the problem was caused by the video card drvers but i dont know how can i uninstall them from my pc because without seeing anything i cant run the "rpm -e" command or whatever i need to....
the question is: how can i start linux without loading the drivers wich cause me the problem????
or if you prefer you can tell me how can i start linux in the text mode which could be nice and could let me uninstall the drivers manually...
</problem>
thank you for the time i hope you will spend with my problem...

you could try pressing

ctrl + alt + F1

and see if you can get into any of the virtual consols then remove the package from there or you could insert the installation CD and there should be an option to start linux in text mode with your hard drive mounted under /mnt/something

then you can remove the package from there, however you will need to change the root to /mnt/something. It will give you instruction when you boot
